Who is in the family: Mom, Dad, boy – age 13, girl – age 11, boy – age 9, girl – age 6
A brief history about the family: The parents came to the U.S. 15 years ago from Vietnam. They resettled in Biloxi, Mississippi where there is a big fishing industry and the parents could find work. In Vietnam, they lived through the war which was many years ago, and had a difficult time making a good life. They came to America for better life for their family.
In September, Hurricane Katrina came through and destroyed their home completely and the fishing boats on which they worked. The family lost all their belongings. They are now living in a trailer provided by FEMA (The Federal Emergency Management Agency), and the children attend school at a temporary site, while their school is being rebuilt.
What the family wishes to have:
Boy, 13 years old: pants (size 16), shirt or sweater (size L), socks, handheld game, Old Navy gift card, twin-sized light blue sheets.
Girl, 11 years old: pants (size 10), shirt or sweater (size 10), slippers, hair things, art things, game, Old Navy gift card, twin-sized sheets.
